The Nashua River Rail Trail, which opened in 2002, is a 10-foot wide paved path following the former Hollis branch of the Boston and Maine railroad for 11 miles through the towns of Ayer, Groton, Pepperell and Dunstable. The trail travels along a varied and scenic landscape. Motorized vehicles are not allowed. Parking access is in Ayer, Groton, and Dunstable.
